How to Manage Stress?

I know… telling you to decrease your stress is such an eye roll… but it is so important. Stress can cause all kind of issues with your adrenals and inflammation. Not only can it cause major symptoms like low libido, hair loss, anxiety, brain fog, weight gain, difficulty sleeping and increase blood sugar, it can also lead to chronic disease.

There are many ways you can start managing your stress and balancing your cortisol. This includes: going for a walk, listening to music/dancing, eat a healthy meal, breathe deeply and center yourself, journaling, scan your body for how you feel, positive self talk, be creative (i.e. adult coloring books, watercolors, sketching, crochet), give yourself a hand or foot massage, and express gratitude.

That all may sound nice but how on earth do you fit that in, on top of everything you have to accomplish in a day and stay sane??

Its about small changes and adding one thing at a time and learning how your body responds to stress. It doesnt have to be a big think just add spending time with supportive friends and family, look at something you consider beautiful, try yoga, tai chi, or qi gong, adopt an active hobby like water aerobics, bicycling, or gardening, write a letter to someone you care about, get a massage, sleep until you wake naturally, visualize a place you find relaxing, find a funny movie or book and laugh. See that doesnt seem so hard, right?
